Incidence of Ghaus Pak (RA)
Sultan Sanjar Shah Nimroz wrote to Hazrat Ghaus Pak (RA) that if you permit then it is my desire to present part of the kingdom of Sanjar to the Monestary (Khanqah)’s expanses so that it eases the financial matters of the monastery.
Hazrat wrote in answer that may my destiny be black like the umbrella of King Sanjar if I be greedy for world like him. To tell the truth ever since I have got the news of the kingdom of Late Night (Prayers) I am not ready to buy the kingdom of Sanjar even for a dime.
Incidence of Hazrat Bakhtiar Kaki (RA)
Sultan Shamsuddin Altamas (RA) sent a document to Hazrat Bakhtiar Kaki (RA) that had pledged some areas revenue for the expanses of the monastary and its dwellers. Hazrat (RA) wrote back that we love you and hence we thought you to had love for us in your heart. But today we realized that it is not so for if you had love for us in your heart then would you have presented to us an object that is so undesirable to Lord Most High, that is, this world! This independence was not a result of affluence on part of the Shaikh. Indeed most of the Elders spent their time in penury.Incidence of Shah Abdul Quddoos Gangohi (RA)
Hazrat Gangohi (RA) wife was his Shaikh’s daughter. She was patient in even in foodless days. Once, after a long spell of going without food, she contended that some effort should be made for arranging food. Hazrat said that arrangement is being made. She asked where? He said that in Jannah. Such was her simplicity and greatness that she accepted even this promise of Jannah!
All of her ornaments were sold except a neckalce. Sometimes Hazrat (RA) would say that I get the bad smell of this world in the house. Once an Elder was visting then. The lady told him that I have saved a (silver, not gold) necklace so that it can be sold to make arrangements for our son’s marriage but my husband smells world in that necklace too. This Elder asked Hazrat Gangohi(RA)as to why he got all thesmell of the world. That was the end of that worldly smell.
