Like Arabic and Persian there is a powerful tradition in Urdu language to express feelings, ideas, teachings, emotions, admonitions and message in the form of couplets. A couplet (sher) is a two line verse, mostly without rhyme but there is a subclass which has both lines rhyming. Weight of the two lines is equal, rhyme or no rhyme. In this page we shall collect the couplets (ash-ar) that occur in our blog posts.
