Qari Ilyas Sahab (DB), the teacher, is having a round of recitation of Surah Taha with a person of his own age. The recitation is like nothing you have heard earlier. There is a very mild hint of competition but mostly it is complementary but the effect is mesmerizing. This is not a common occurrence. Gimmicks is not the way of life in Islam.
The elderly person is Sufi Zaheeruddin Ahmed (DB) who is a caliph of Muhi-us-Sunnah Shah Hardoi (RA). He has retired as a theology teacher from ST High School of AMU. He holds his own daily sitting (majlis) in Zohra Bagh locality of Aligarh.
