To acquire the knowledge of Contemporary Sciences is a Social Responsibility ( Fard-i-Kifaya). To acquire the requisite knowledge of Islamic Sciences is a Personal Responsibility (Fard-i-Ain). Nowadays people are committing excess in recommending Contemporary Sciences. Even people with background of Islamic education like Maulana are asserting that it is extremely necessary to acquire the knowledge Contemporary Sciences-changing a Social Responsibility into a Personal Responsibility by over emphasis. This is what I communicated to Mufti Mohammed Taqi Usmani when I had a telephonic conversation with him during his recent visit.
