His Speech Lacks Meat

After a sermon by an Elder a person remarked that there is no strength in his speech. The Elder was within an year shot and heard this. He said, " My dear fellow the substance is found in the speeches of those people who have a connection with Allah, with the Prophet (PBUH), with the Holy Qura'n. You take my speech and connection of your own."

(A faithful is a mirror to another. The Elders are like high quality mirrors. If we end up finding a short coming in our Elders then in all probability it is our short coming-we are looking in the mirror! Now read the saying above again and see how softly the questioner has been corrected. All-Pure is Allah, Most High.)

Some people's discourse is not very scholarly but it has a rather strong attraction in it. The discourse doesn't have to be long too. Once people suggested, to Shah Hardoi Hazrat Abrar-ul-Haq Sahab (RA),  that there should be a discourse. He said very well and then spoke, but only for ten minutes. In these minutes the speech managed to pack a lot of information. Like filling the ocean in a pot, to use a cliche.
