Beloved Prophet (SAW) had asked for deliverance from collective punishment like the destruction of whole nations of Aad and Samood. Allah (SWT) accepted it. Thus we have examples of natural calamities like earth quakes, floods, air accidents, train accidents but these do not destroy whole nations.
