Once the beloved Prophet of Allah Almighty, may Peace and Blessings be upon him, asked the Companions, "Shan't I tell you something that will reduce your sins and increase your stature?" "Yes, yes!", the companions said, rather eagerly. The Holy Prophet, may Peace and Blessings be upon him, said, "One, to perform thorough ablution in adverse circumstances; two, to take many steps towards the mosque and three, after a prayer to be in wait for the next."
