Once Shah Hardoi (RA) finished his prayers and immediately brought out a piece of paper from the pocket and wrote something on it and put it back. Then he told the associates that I had two amounts of money in my pocket. One personal and another trust. I just wrote a note about that. You never know what circumstances might arise.
This was the level of precaution of our Elders.
There another similar story in which Muhi-us-Sunnah (RA) wrote a note saying, "Money trust, bag personal." Today we just do not care about such things.
