A ruler wanted to avoid keeping a beard. A scholar said sir you should not keep a beard. Beards usually have lice and they commit fornication. By forgoing beard you are avoiding the responsibility for it.
A friend of the this scholar was also present at the court. Later on he told this scholar that you made a point that is against faith. The scholar said that when I go to the court I leave the faith on the bridge en route. I pick it on my way back.
