The Crafty Donor

There was an associate of Shah Hardoi (RA) from Karachi. He had a very humorous nature. He narrated the story of Charity (zakat) payment by a rich man. This man calculated the Charity. It turned out to be a large sum. He took a bag and filled its lower part with the currency note bundles. Then poured wheat on its top so that only wheat was visible. Then he took this bag to the street and waited there. When a poor man passed in front of his he asked him whether he'll take Charity from him. The poor man nodded agreeably. The rich man gave the bag to him. On the other end of the street the rich man had put a man of his own. This man asked the poor man if he would sell the wheat he had with him in the bag. The poor man was once again very glad to make the second transaction in few minutes. The lackey of the rich man paid the first price quoted by the poor man very gladly.
The rich man got back his bag declared that he had paid his Charity.
