Spreading the Legs

Hazrat Shaikh Hakim Kalimullah Sahab (DB) quoted a couplet at the tea time today of Bahadur Shah Zafar which says that shall spread out out legs only in the tomb for rest. (Phaila ke pair soyenge zer-e-mazaar ...). Hazrat Shaikh (DB) is much affected by illness of Hazrat Qari Sahab (DB). Though Hazrat Qari Sahab (DB) is a disciple (mureed) of Hazrat Shaikh (DB) but he is more thought of as a great blessing. After tea Hazrat asked people to leave for the mosque. (The time was just before Maghrib but there was clear desire to be left alone.)

Hazrat Qari Amir Hasan Sahab (DB) Unwell

Qari Sahab (DB) keeps telling us that he is ninety years old. Today there was a telephone talk with Dr Shuaib (from Hardoi). Qari Sahab (DB) is in a state of stagger (hunoodgi). This is the common term. In mysticism the proper word is to be in daze (tahaiyur). This is a state of surprise. His room is very small and people keep bothering in spite of instructions for not doing so. In his last visit to Aligarh the situation was better in the sense that people were not allowed to bother him. (I) had asked him to be shifted to any place he preferred-Aligarh, Lucknow, Hyderabad or Bombay. Make supplications for him. With the blessings of Supplications Allah (SWT) returns the calamities. These Elders are the treasure of the Ummah.

The Life of Worldly Things

How long will these worldly fame and wealth, house and land survive? Today these are with one person tomorrow these will be with some body else.

Friends of Allah Too Are Mortal

Which ever reformers of our characters are present they too will leave the world one day. They are present for a definite duration only. (Though not known to us.) This has been observed that if the number of people contacting an Elder for self correction increases too much then it is an indication that he last time has arrived. Slowly Allah (SWT) calls the Masha-ikh back. (I) was present with Ali Miyan (RA) in 1999. Paralysis has already struck. The room was full of medicines and aids necessary for various contingencies. Elders indulge in these things (medicine) for the sake of their associates other wise have got some inclination about their departure. In no case they put their trust in these worldly efforts. Allah (SWT) has said that life and death is in His hands. All the medical facilities might be present but His decree prevails. Only Allah (SWT) knows when death will over take. Similarly people used ask (beloved Prophet (PBUH)) as to when the doomsday will arrive. They were told that only Allah (SWT) knows but there are some indications.

Value Life Before Death

Qari Sahab (DB) keeps saying that value life before death. This attitude will enter our life if we go in the service of the People of Allah.

Desirable Worries

If you indulge in Remembrance then it will induce concern in your heart-concern for hereafter, concern for good deeds, concern for giving up sins.

A Subtle Denial

When you keep Allah (SWT) happy then you'll have no hesitation what so ever in leaving this world. Today people indulge in this kind of statement that this was an unfortunate death because there are very small kids left behind by the deceased and how shall they survive.

Lest He Be Angry

Supplicate to Allah in this way,"O Allah let me do no such thing that will make you angry with me." Where will you go by making Him angry? You'll have no place to take refuge be it the earth or the sky.

Specially for Morning

This has been requested earlier that when you get up in the morning then there are many Supplications but one should be specially included that beseeches Allah Most High to make our knowledge our Light and make it our Guidance.
